EMPLOYEES OF MAPLERIDGE POWER & LIGHT CO. RATIFY FIRST COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

July 18, 2018 – Concord, ON – Employees of Mapleridge Power & Light Co. ratified their first Collective Agreement with the BUC. This first Agreement includes a four percent increase in Pension contributions, two percent increase in vacation pay and one dollar per hour increase in the Journeyman hourly wage rate. This equals a total monetary increase of over eight percent in the first year.

Mapleridge directly employs Electricians and Apprentices who perform work in all sectors of construction in Ontario. “The goal of this first Agreement was to keep the Employer viable in an extremely competitive market while getting the employees a proper increase over-all.” states Stephen Bromell, Secretary Treasure of the BUC. “I believe we accomplished our goal.
