October 28, 2019 – Concord, ON – The BUC represents all Construction Labourers working for The Daniels Group Inc. including those Labourers that operate Man and Material Hoists.
Approximately three years ago LIUNA attempted to raid the BUC for those Labourers that are operating the Man and Material Hoists. The OLRB ruled against LIUNA and in favour of the BUC in that initial case. LIUNA then attempted to appeal the decision through Judicial Review. They lost that case as well because they didn’t follow proper process.
LIUNA then filed a Request for Reconsideration through the OLRB and the Labour Board ruled in favour of the BUC again.
“Once again, LIUNA wastes more of their Members’ hard earned money on another one of their ridiculous challenges through the Ontario Labour Relations Board. This is the third time they have lost this same case.” says Stephen Bromell, Vice President/Secretary Treasurer of the BUC.
