Friday, January 17, 2020 – Concord, ON – The Building Union of Canada (BUC) filed raid applications during the most recent open period in 2019 on companies whose employees were represented by BACU Local 31. These highly skilled employees perform Tile and Terrazzo work in the ICI sector of the construction industry in Ontario.
Today, the ballots were counted at the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) and the employees of four companies overwhelmingly voted in favour of the BUC by a result of 87.8% of the ballots cast.
“Today is a great day for these employees and the BUC.” says Tony Cordeiro, Business Representative of the BUC. “We are very excited to have this opportunity to represent these hard working and highly skilled men and women who showed an incredible trust in the BUC and for that we are grateful.”
