The Building Union of Canada is committed to the health, safety and well-being of its membership. The Building Union of Canada will continue to work with its employers to ensure a safe work site where our members are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Should any member of the Building Union of Canada have a COVID related issue that results in their termination from employment, the Union commits to the following:

1. Investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that all options have been explored and the member was treated fairly

2. The Union will assist the member in mitigating his loss of employment by assisting in finding employment

3. If necessary, the Union will proceed with a grievance under the collective agreement for wrongful dismissal and make every effort to ensure that it is successfully resolved at OLRB.
