To all our BUC Members, please be vigilant about any aggressive attempts to make you sign a membership card with LIUNA. Local 183 has made constant attempts to raid our membership for several years, and all of those campaigns were defeated at the Ontario Labour Board over the last 9 years. We urge our BUC members to refer to your Collective Agreement for what the BUC has secured for you in wage increases and Pension/Benefits Plans.
Your BUC representatives spend most of their efforts servicing our existing members, which is the number one priority. Any other union organizer who may approach you, with any advertisement like the one posted below, is not accurate or based on fact. Our Press releases on this web site lists many occasions where the BUC has fully protected and defended the rights and sanctity of their BUC membership. Anything anyone else can promise is short of the truth, so please contact us if someone comes around promising things that are too good to be true.
