LIUNA LOSES ANOTHER CHALLENGE AGAINST THE BUC
October 26, 2018 – Concord, ON – On April 13, 2018 the BUC received a certificate from the OLRB giving them the bargaining rights for the employees working for ICCI in Board Area 3. One month after the BUC received these bargaining rights LIUNA filed an application to the OLRB for the purposes of challenging the BUC rights to represent these workers. On October 24, 2018 the OLRB issued their decision dismissing LIUNA’s application which allows the BUC to carry on with their bargaining rights. Clonard Group Inc. employees who are represented by the Building Union of Canada have been working on a construction job site located at 178 Victoria St, Toronto, ON for approximately 3 years. On Wednesday, December 6th LIUNA representatives arrived at the site to protest and attempt to have Clonard removed from the site.
