Concord, ON – Employees of Delzap Construction Ltd. joined the Building Union of Canada and unanimously endorsed their first collective agreement which will run for three years. The employees joined the BUC in early June, 2017. Burlington, ON – The Building Union of Canada is pleased to announce they have entered into a collective agreement with INNOVATIVE CIVIL CONSTRUCTORS INC. and EIFFAGE INNOVATIVE CANADA INC. The Agreement is for three years and includes an increase in wage rates for our skilled bridge constructor members, as well as a comprehensive health benefits plan.
McMaster Pay Equity
In October 2013 The Building Union of Canada was selected by the membership of the Operations and Maintenance Staff at McMaster University to be their representatives. At that time, President Craig Bromell committed to doing whatever was possible to secure their employment and improve their lot in life. The University threatened lock-out, demanded that the Ministry of Labour conduct a final offer vote and resisted arbitration. The Union and its members persevered and in January of 2015 the first contract arbitration was awarded and secured their jobs with modest pay increases through 2018....

Toronto, ON – In a vote conducted by the OLRB on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 the security guards working for RBG Security Inc. voted in favour of the BUC by a margin of over 81%.
