January 20, 2023 – Concord, ON – Employees of Royal Plumbing and Contracting Ltd. overwhelmingly ratified their first Collective Agreement with the BUC by a margin of 89%. This first Agreement includes Employer contributions of $3.00 per hour into the BUC Pension Plan, Employer paid BUC Health Benefits Plan and hourly wage increases of between 13% and 20% over the duration of the Collective Agreement.
Royal Plumbing and Contracting Ltd. directly employs Plumbers and Apprentices who perform service work in Ontario. “Once again we accomplished our goals in these negotiations. We worked with the Employer and their employees to negotiate an Agreement that rewards the employees for their skilled and safe work but also keeps the Employer competitive in the service sector,” states Anthony Iannuzzi, Business Representative of the BUC. “More and more non-union construction employees are calling us every day wanting to join the BUC because they see how our vision of Labour Relations just makes sense.”
