EASTERN ONTARIO TERRAZZO & TILE COMPANY EMPLOYEES RATIFY FIRST COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE BUILDING UNION OF CANADA (BUC)

Monday, May 30, 2022 - Concord, ON – The Building Union of Canada (BUC) filed a raid application during the most recent open period in 2022 for the employees who are employed by Eastern Ontario Terrazzo & Tile Company Limited and who were represented by BACU Local 10 in Kingston. These employees voted overwhelming in favour of the BUC by a vote count of over 92%. These highly skilled employees perform Tile and Terrazzo work in the ICI sector of the construction industry in Ontario. MORRISTON MECHANICAL CONSULTANTS & TECHNICIANS INC. RATIFIES THEIR NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE BUC.

The Building Union of Canada is happy to announce that the members of Morriston Mechanical successfully ratified their new collective agreement. Great improvements of 20 – 23% in wages and 4 -10% in pension, along with the benefits package moving up a level for the better tier. First and second year apprentices wills see their wages boosted by 5%, along with a boot allowance of $250 per member. Forepersons will also receive a wage hike of $3.00 per hour.

EMPLOYEES OF DLB GROUP RATIFY COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT RENEWAL

December 10, 2021 – Concord, ON – Employees of the DLB Group ratified their Collective Agreement renewal with the BUC by 100%. This renewed Agreement includes a $4.25 increase in Pension contributions, and jump from Tier 2 to Tier 4 in the Benefits Package, and a new bereavement leave allowance. This equals a total monetary increase of over 9% percent over the next three years. Travel and boot allowance were also negotiated by the BUC’s Tony Cordeiro.
