We are awaiting the Ontario Labour Board outcome and will proceed to craft a fair and much improved collective agreement for you; one that has been missing for the last three years.
When the vast majority of you approached the Building Union of Canada, we heard your concerns and took action. We have to make this perfectly clear; immediately after the vote, the Labour Board representative suggested that we open the box and get to the results. The SEIU rep and the Employer Rep for McMaster University were adamant that this did not happen.
The ensuing messages from the SEIU are misleading and so have the suggestions by McMaster University that the BUC has misled you regarding our statement that the SEIU and McMaster joined forces to rob you of your democratic rights. The evidence is simple. Who demanded verbally and in writing to have the box sealed? It was not the Building Union of Canada.
We are in the process of confirming other evidence brought to our attention regarding these two entities joining forces to interfere with the outcome of your vote.
The Building Union of Canada is committed to improving the quality of our members lives at work and at home. We are looking forward to represent you in the way you should have been in the last three years.
