Toronto, ON – In a vote conducted by the OLRB on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 the security guards working for RBG Security Inc. voted in favour of the BUC by a margin of over 81%.
These employees were represented by the Teamsters Union Local 847 for the last three years but felt they were not receiving the representation they deserved.
“This is a very special group of people who protect people’s property, valuables and lives but were not receiving any Health Benefits, Pension and proper wages under the Teamsters collective agreement,” says Stephen Bromell, Secretary Treasurer of the Building Union of Canada. “They called the BUC because they knew of our reputation of negotiating proper collective agreements and strong servicing of the people we represent. We are looking forward to a long and productive relationship with RBG Security Inc. and their employees”.
